Haruzo Saji exhibited at the 1893 Columbian Exposition (Chicago World's Fair) and was awared for the semi-porcelain ware.

Saji was a manufacturer and exporter of ceramic tile and his business was Saji Tile Kabushiki Kaisha located in Nagoya at 106 Yamada Nishi-machi 3 chome, Kita-ku during the Meiji era.

In 1901, Saji Haruzo was noted as a principal manufacturer and dealer of porcelain, cloisonne and fans.

Haruzo Saji died in 1937 and the company continued until the occupation of Japan.
