company Nagoya Seito. By 1935, Nagoya Seitosho Ltd. was a major manufacturer and exporter of Nagoya porcelain ware, dinner ware, fine china ware, fancy china ware, sanitary ware, and tiles - under the name MEITO CHINA. |

There are six Nippon backstamps shown
below of which only two recorded and
numbered by Joan Van Patten, mark #10 and
#222. Careful attention must be considered when reviewing the unrecorded Nippon marks found on porcelain because based on their advertisement, the trademark "HAND PAINTED NAGOYA NIPPON" with crown in center was still being used in 1922. Generally speaking, porcelain wares created and exported during the ending of the Nippon period are considered Transitional Nippon Porcelain ware but it is not known when the word Nippon was no longer used in the backstamps for Nagoya Seitosho - Meito China. |
