The pottery & glass salesman, Volume 18 , Pottery, Glass and Brass Salesmen's Association of America, 1918 - Takito, Ogawa & Co. and Tajimi Company Consolidate An item of news of great interest to the trade has just been made public. It concerns the consolidation of two wellknown Japanese importing concerns— Takito, Ogawa & Co. and the Tajimi Company. The new corporation will be known as The Taiyo Trading Co., Inc., and will maintain offices and showrooms at 99-101 Fifth Avenue—the present headquarters of Takito, Ogawa & Co.—with branches in Boston, Chicago, and Toronto, Canada. The combination will bring together two lines that complement each other very materially, and which will make one of the strongest showings of Japanese wares in the United States. The sources of supply in Japan will be merged, while all the high executives and other important functionaries of both concerns will remain with the new combination. Simmon's spice mill, 1919 - Takito, Ogawa & Co., New York and Chicago, and The Tajimi Co., New York and Boston, two of the largest importers of Japanese goods, have consolidated their interests and incorporated under the name of Taiyo Trading Co., Inc. The consolidation will mean one of the largest organizations of its kind in the United States, as both of the firms enjoyed an extensive patronage among the retailers and jobbers throughout the country. There will be no material change in the personnel of the new organization and all of the offices which were previously maintained, will remain in operation. The principal offices will be at 101 Fifth Ave., New York, and 325 W. Madison St., Chicago; while sample rooms will be maintained in Boston, New Orleans, Kansas City and San Francisco.
